Happy Thanksgiving back.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day. Which means today is Thanksgiving Eve. Which means I could, at this point, launch into a self-reflective diatribe of the things for which I am thankful. Let's start instead with an update about what's happening in the world of me.

I am working for the City of Orem. Steve was living in California for about two and a half months in the hopes of landing a job in the film industry. As of last week, he didn't have any solid job prospects and we decided it would be best for him to come back to Utah for the holidays. I am so happy he is home with me.

I have interviewed for two jobs in California so far. The first company didn't want me, and the second told me very unceremoniously that I am their number 2 choice. In the event their number 1 falls through, or another position opens up, I could potentially be offered a job. I'm not holding out hope.

We are still dedicated to our goal of moving to California and will continue our job search in January. At this point, we are committed to enjoying the holidays (hopefully our last in wintery Utah!) and our time together. We appreciate all of the well wishes and support we have received from friends and family; this has been and will continue to be one of our biggest life adventures and it helps to know we have so many people rooting for our success. Several months ago we had hoped to be in California by now, but actually I am so excited to see my sister Jessica and her family and to spend a little more time with Steve's family and our five beautiful nieces that I am glad we are still in Utah. I am certain that everything happens for a reason and that, with a little patience and perseverance, the right opportunities will present themselves at the right time for us. I am taking life one day at a time, and I am glad to have my husband, my family, my friends, my job, and my health to help take me from today to tomorrow.

(and just in case you didn't catch it, that was indeed a thankful list)

Happy Thanksgiving.
